Peace Does Not Exist

So, lately I've been binge watching Naruto and it just got me thinking... Every rival the Leaf Village faces, like the Akatsuki and Obito, all began battles in an effort to destroy the village and remake it into the idea of peace that they envisioned... And I thought to myself that even if the world did restart, we are humans, therefore, there would be war nonetheless.
"Just by living, people hurt others without even realizing it. So long as humanity exists, hate will also exist. There is no peace in this cursed world. War is just a crime paid for by the pain of the defeated...Religion, ideology, resources, land, spite, love or just because… No matter how pathetic the reason, it’s enough to start war. War will never cease to exist… reasons can be thought up after the fact… Human nature pursues strife."; Masashi Kishimoto

In the words of Pain (about him destroying the village):
"It will give birth to short period of peace within this endless chain of hatred. That's my wish."
These words then made me think that, if indeed there is peace around or within us, then it is only for a short period of time. I guess, the time I actually believed that peace was real was when I was a child... Which equals my statement that; the only way to truly know peace is by being ignorant.

I mean, truly, what is peace? Does it even exist or is it just an idea that we humans made up?
Wikipedia states that "Peace is a lack of conflict and freedom from fear of violence between heterogeneous social groups."
I used to live in this state of "peace"... that is, until I started watching the news and actually examining everything in my life. I just realised that peace was never real to begin with. I mean, the world has always been at war and we're all in a constant battle with ourselves... Sigh... Indeed, ignorance is bliss.

I can't help but feel that maybe I'm wrong but in this moment, I'm unable to think of a different view. Anywho, not to put a damper on your day... carry on. I was just stuck in thought that's all. By the way, I'm not usually a downer so here's a joke/ fairly famous riddle for you from the 1
847 edition of The Knickerbocker:

Why did the chicken cross the road?
Because he wanted to die. Because in crossing the road it got hit by a car, and in so doing, made it to the other side. AKA the afterlife. He crossed over... into death.

Okay now I'm just screwing with you but now I know you'll never think of this the same way ever again. Sorry. I hope you enjoyed the dark humour as I did though.

Until next time, ร  tout ร  l'heure.๐Ÿ’‹
